Storytelling is an important skill to learn for your business in order to inspire the action that you want with your current clients and your current audience.

Everything that we create as far as marketing and content is the message that we are putting out there to attract our current clients and for them to resonate.

with our message. It’s important so we can build trust and then really serve our audiences at the highest level with our content.

Storytelling is a really great way to engage our audience and ensure that we really dive in a little bit deeper with our know, like and trust factor.

Also, to ensure that our audience really relates to our message.

They see themselves in our message in the way that we are using storytelling. They identify with our message and actually see us as the guide that they actually need to solve a particular problem in their business.

First, start the storytelling journey with your content to connect and build rapport. Whether you are doing a LIVE video or speaking somewhere and connecting with a like-minded audience, You want to ensure that you find common points to start a conversation. This is a great way to build rapport, connect and find positivity. Find something positive to speak about that you can highlight and begin the conversation.

Next, take your audience on a journey.

When you are sharing your message or topic with your current audience, You want to make your audience the hero and you want to be that guide that really empathizes with your audience. Share your own experiences of struggle or something that you have overcome. So that you give your audience a chance to empathize with you. Take the audience through the steps that they need to learn in order for them to get a quick win or a win with the story, so you are pulling them in. Every story has to have a hook! At the beginning, we want to grab our audience’s attention with:

  • Something they might be going through
  • something that will catch their attention.
  • something that spikes curiosity in them.

With that, you want to take your audience on a journey with you as the guide and your audience as the hero.

Next, using empathy and vulnerability

We connect so much more with someone that we resonate with. We build trust with people we like, people we want to be like. Or see ourselves in them through the message that they are sharing. Using empathy in your message is a crucial skill as far as your storytelling is concerned. So that your audience can really see themselves in your journey.

As human beings, we actually relate to others through empathy.

Lastly, inspire them!

Future cast the vision for the message you are sharing so that it’s also possible for them. The number one question in every audience’s mind with whatever topic or message is “how is this result possible for me?” “Is this actually possible for me?”. You want to spark that curiosity in your audience when you are future-casting things for them and connecting all the dots of the journey. You are speaking about the storytelling experience so that your audience can have a future cast and they can get inspired by what it is that you are actually delivering to them and they get hope by your message so that your teaching pulls them in and your audience can see that and also achieve that particular result.
